Transfer Credit Hours
Students who have completed graduate-level coursework at an accredited institution may be eligible to transfer qualified credits to a program at AVC University. However, the following conditions apply:
1. Credit Transfer Restrictions:
• Transfer credits cannot be used to fulfill the requirement for concentrated courses within any program of study.
• Only credits for courses with a grade of B or higher will be considered for transfer.
• The transferred courses must not have been used to meet the requirements of a degree program at another institution.
• Transfer grades will not affect the calculation of the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA).
2. Application and Documentation:
• All requests for transfer credits must be accompanied by official transcripts and submitted either at the time of application or within 30 days after the start of the student’s first term at AVC University.
3. Review Process:
• The courses for transfer will be evaluated by the program Chair for recommendation.
• If accepted, the transfer credits will count towards the total credit requirements for the degree, but will not be included in the GPA calculations.
4. Transfer Credit Conditions:
• Courses requested for transfer must have been completed within the last five (5) years before submission of application.
• Courses must be equivalent to AVC University’s regular 500-level or higher courses.
• Courses must correspond to AVC University’s credit hours system.
• An official transcript showing the courses to be transferred must be on file at AVC University.
• A written analysis from the academic mentor or department head, explaining the basis for the transfer request, must be provided.
